You probably need further information that wasn’t found on our Services pages. Below are answers to a few of the most common inquiries. Of course, if you still have questions, feel free to ask via email.
A: The process for designing and developing a website includes planning, research, design, coding, installation, configuring, content organization and collection, testing, and deployment. And all of these steps may involve multiple iterations, with an added approval process.
So the average turnaround for the following:
- 2 or more months for a simple informational website
- 3 or more months for a site with more requested features and functionality
- 4 or more months for an e-commerce site
But all site turnarounds will vary from project to project, especially dependent on the complexity of features, timely delivery of content copy and imagery, approval of drafts, etc.
A: A Coming Soon landing page will be installed during the time we are creating your website, which can include contact information, links and/or feeds of your social networks, newsletter signup, announcements, and lovely on-brand imagery.
For site re-designs, the original site can stay up if you do not wish for a Coming Soon page, while we build the website in a separate, temporary directory or subdomain.
A: All digital admin accounts — including domains, web hosting, email hosting, email campaign managers, etc. — are opened with your company information using your payment and billing credentials.
After which, it will be up to you, the owner, to provide user permissions of these accounts to whoever needs access for design or development reasons, including Manon Etc.
That way you will always own and have control over your digital assets, no matter who is developing your projects.
A: For Digital Admin, WordPress Rehabilitation, and WordPress Maintenance, a 100% deposit is required before the project starts.
For Branding, Marketing, and Website Design/Installation:
- 50% deposit before the project starts
- 25% after design is approved, and before moving into the publication-ready development phase
- 25% when project is completed
Payment can be made via credit card, PayPal, or check.
All projects though are not invoiced until the contract from Manon Etc for that particular service is signed by all parties.
A: Site Rehab, Site Maintenance, and Digital Admin Assistance are mostly technical, goals and solutions are known beforehand, and are not dependent on the complete design process.
Whereas budget constraints need to be considered for:
- Branding and Marketing Design options of the final product, i.e., quantity of colors, finishing, media, deliverables, etc.
- Website Design/Installation vetting of the complete vision before committing to cost, i.e., does it need a new logo, the complexity of the site, scope of both configuration/coding and layout/architecture, shared vs. dedicated web hosting, whether to use free or premium web apps, etc.
A: If I’ve started on the project, all payments made before and during the project are non-refundable as they are based on labor and time.
And if there is a balance left of the entire project cost, there is a cancellation fee of 10% of the balance, because there’s labor and time involved in decoupling from a project, and rearranging a schedule.
When a project is cancelled, you do not own any source files used to create branding, marketing or digital projects.
You do own all your content and imagery, as well as all vendor accounts and products you’ve paid for, i.e., stock art, site themes, web hosting, domains, email managers, product licenses, etc.
If you find you would rather work with another designer/developer, the transition will be as painless as possible during the handoff, including providing project info, administrator credentials, deleting Manon Etc from all accounts, etc.
